On June 19, three social work students, a member of the G.P.P.C and two members of Ideas visited Martin Ferreira High School to carry out the first part of the Programa de participación ciudadana en las escuelas secundarias. Twenty-six students between the ages of 15 and 17 participated to the workshop. In the first hour, the high school students, in groups of ten, were given questions concerning citizen participation and democracy, which they had to discuss among themselves at first and then with the whole class. In the second part of the activity, the students played a game in which they created a network consisting of different members of a community. The workshop lasted two hours and sensitized the adolescents to the importance of citizen participation.
